How to lose belly fat with intermittent fasting

Fitness May 16, 2020

What is the ultimate fitness dream for every person on the planet?

Losing belly fat.

However, it seems as an elusive goal since we have more and more obese people on the planet – 2.2 billion to be exact.  Over half of the US population is overweight.

Even worse, a 2017 study found that obesity drives more preventable deaths in the U.S. than smoking.

Ok. Let's skip the horrible data and let's talk about real actions to fix it.

What comes to mind first when you think about losing weight? dieting.

While dieting can prove as a solid approach in the beginning, it just doesn't work in the long-term and dieting results are usually very disappointing.

People on weight loss programs often experience an increase in appetite hormones that occurs after losing fat and muscle. These hormones (called ghrelin and leptin) go crazy over time and they can mess with your feeling of hunger.

This means that you get more hungry over time, and if you have some extra cheat-days or stop with dieting for a few weeks, you might gain all the weight back very quickly, and even more pounds than you started with – because you feel more hungry!

“Losing weight and keeping it off is hard, and if anyone tells you it’s easy, run the other way,” says James O. Hill – Obesity Researcher

Losing weight is hard. But there is hope.

Many people believe that fitness and working out is the best way to lose weight and get a six pack if you are lucky.

Fitness (and resistance training to be more specific) is certainly one of the most efficient ways to lose weight and belly fat since building up muscle mass is the best way to ramp up resting metabolic rate and burn fat continuously – even when you sleep.

However, fitness requires discipline and hard-work, but also skill and a significant time investment.

We love working out, but we believe that there is a way to lose belly fat with a much lower investment of time, money and effort – Intermittent fasting!

Intermittent fasting is a safe and effective approach that promotes not just fat loss, but actually improves overall health.

It is as easy as skipping a meal or two every day, and you can start with some simple programs like 16-8 or 14-10 – which means eating in a 8 or 10 hour window every day and then fasting for 14 or 16 hours (it sounds a lot, but most of the time you sleep and rest).

What is the result of intermittent fasting over time?

Massive fat-burn and weight-loss.

Even without working out or dieting intermittent fasting unlocks fat loss mechanisms in the body by continuously tapping into glycogen and fat stores in your body after a prolonged period without food.

So how to activate the fat burning machine?

It is as easy as eating nothing for a prolonged period of time.

It takes only 8, 10 or 12 hours for the body to start tapping into stored fat (e.g. belly fat) and this is why it's essential to fast for at least 14 or 16 hours every day.

You need to give time to your metabolism to start burning that fat ;)

Intermittent fasting unlocks dramatic hormonal changes in the body which result in a body recomposition – your body will become a fat burning machine.

After a few weeks of intermittent fasting it will be as easy as brushing your teeth. Your hunger hormones will adapt to a new regime of eating and you will start feeling great.

So go ahead and start losing pounds with a very simple protocol of intermittent fasting and feasting.

You will save money, time and have a sustainable lifestyle that you can stick to for decades.
